Ümit Bozer

INDEPENDENT BOARD MEMBER

Born in Adana in 1967, Ümit Bozer graduated from the Department of Economics at Ankara University, Faculty of Political Sciences in 1988. He started his career as an auditor at Price Waterhouse in 1989, and continued his career as Assistant Trade Manager at ÖzMaya Gıda San. Tic. A.Ş., owned by Lesaffre Group, France, and as CFO at Safmaya Gıda San. Tic. A.Ş., a company of the same group, responsible for all financial, administrative and personnel departments of the company.

Bozer took on a new responsibility as Cargill Turkey Commodity Marketing Division Financial Controller in 1994, and from 1996 to early 2000, he played an important role in the establishment, development and growth of Quiksilver Turkey, Quiksilver Australia's first overseas partnership. In 2000, he signed an agreement with Çelebi Holding and took on a new role to establish the group's organizational development and business development department, but with the global economic crisis in early 2000, he continued as the group's CFO and assumed various organizational responsibilities within the group. Being a member of the audit board of Çelebi Hava Servisi, a public company of the Çelebi Group, is one of these responsibilities, and during his term as the holding's business development chairman, he accelerated the growth of the group by adding important domestic and international projects, the establishment of new companies such as Çelebi Liman, Çelebi Hungary and Çelebi India to the group, and adding these new business areas to the group.

Bozer, who also served in various Board of Directors memberships in the Çelebi group, was appointed as Çelebi Holding CEO in 2011 and at the end of 2014, he voluntarily left his position as CEO of the holding and moved to Canada.
